Your mission: to create a POSTER!
The PURPOSE of the poster you will create is to encourage ordinary citizens (especially young people) to do something to make the world a better place!
You can encourage people to, for example:
- switch off the lights!
- plant a tree!
- support a charity!
- pay someone a compliment!
- give up meat once a week!
By doing that one simple thing, they will contribute to meeting the MILLENNIUM DEVELOPMENT GOALS.
Here are the steps you should follow:
- Read the information on the UNDP's website and learn what the MDGs are all about.
- Read the information on the European Year of Development website.
- With two classmates, decide on what 'good deed' you want people to do.
- With your two classmates, research the reasons you think people should do that good deed.
- Study the information on the following website to help you design you poster: Effective poster design
- Together, design and create the A3 colour poster (use thick paper).
- You must include the slogan: 'Do good!' and include the sentence: "Here’s a simple thing YOU can do to make the world a better place...".
- You must include the following MDGs logo:
- You must also include the following logo (very small and NOT next to the MDGs logo!):
- You must include on the poster the reasons WHY someone should do the good deed you would like them to do and indicate where they can find further information.
- The DEADLINE to hand in your poster is Thursday 30 April 2015!
- If it is HAND-DRAWN, you should take a good quality photo of your poster and send it to ortisbateau@gmail.com
- If your poster has been made using a computer, send it as a JPG document or as a PDF document to ortisbateau@gmail.com
- During the 'Mois de l'Europe' (i.e. May), the posters will be hung in the main corridor of Massillon (the vernissage will be at 17:00 on Thursday 7 May; parents are invited!).
- You will present your poster (in English!), if it is selected, at the vernissage (be prepared to answer questions!).
